Ceylon team! (not so officially?)



I have an idea and need your advice.

I think we (overall Ceylon community) need some real working application
written on Ceylon. The application has to be useful to the community itself
(or to a big part of the community), leads to community collaboration,
helps community growing and also to be developed outside Ceylon team.



Which kind such application can be?

At the moment Ceylon community is relatively small and we don’t have
sufficient test / usage / feedbacks to our projects. So, lets help each
other and do review and test of community member projects.


That’s income and now application idea:


- some kind of “review my module”
- project owner pushes module review request
- anybody else reviews it in different terms (like API clearness,
usability, workability, performance, documentation and so on) and fills in
something like questionnaire
- application has to force reviewer to run the module, for example, it
requires a link on gist or other to mark the review as completed
- also it may force to do reviews, like no review, no request
- it must be web application written on Ceylon
- it must be developed outside Ceylon team
- it must have no exact owner – overall community owns this

Before going to the community with this I would like to ask Ceylon
teammates with following:


1. Is such project interesting and useful?
2. Would you personally use such application?
3. How do you think would some community members join to development?
4. Could somebody from Ceylon team take a mentoring role and help in
project organization?
5. Any ideas?
